Lambs ® Disclaimer

DISCLAIMER:

The Lambs ® is NOT the Lambs Club Restaurant of the Chatwal Hotel, nor connected to any religious organization.

The Lambs, Inc., is America's oldest professional theatrical club. First established in London in 1868, then in Manhattan in 1874 and later incorporated in May of 1877. During our 137+ year history The Lambs has had many homes and, in 1905, erected its own clubhouse at 130 West 44th Street in Manhattan designed by famed architect Sanford White. At this clubhouse, The Lambs, Inc. (often referred and known as The Lambs Club, The Lambs Theater, or simply The Lambs) flourished producing many plays and programs rising into prominence within American Theater history. Lerner and Loewe, the famed Broadway writing team, first met at The Lambs. Stalag 17 and Mark Twain Tonight were first performed on stage in The Lambs' in-house theater.

The Lambs vacated it's historically protected building in 1975 and resides at 3 West 51st Street in Manhattan where it remains a vibrant and active theater club, continuing its historic journey.

The Lambs, Inc., is NOT the Lambs Theater nor related to the Church of the Nazarene or its Manhattan Initiative, or any other religious organization, nor The Lambs is not related to the Lambs Players Theater of San Diego. The Lambs Foundation, Inc., is not related to the Church of the Nazarene or any of its charitable groups including it Friends of the Lambs.

The Lambs has never ceased to exist since its founding nor has it been purchased by the Chatwal Hotel group; their restaurant and bar are not connected with our organization. The historical Stanford White building has been gutted, remodeled and is now a hotel and, within that hotel, is a restaurant/bar titled the Lambs Club Restaurant. As part of an agreement, that restaurant is required to prominently post a disclaimer in its facility, in any and all advertisements, flyers and web sites, stating clearly that that are not The Lambs.

The Lambs ® is a registered trademark of The Lambs, Inc., and has been known as The Lambs club for over 137 years.

The Lambs has never gone out of business, nor licensed or franchised its name, nor received any payments for use of its name, nor granted any person or business permission to use its trademarked name and its logo. The Lambs, Inc., has never been purchased by any other entity or person and is proud of its 137+ years of uninterrupted service to it membership, which was recognized by the Honorable Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York, marking our anniversary of incorporation on May 9, 2007.

Our organization continues its legacy as a private club for entertainment industry professionals.
